So yesterday I made my return to schooling life.It was really nice seeing many familiar faces and by familiar faces I mean DUrians (Jun Herng, Praba, etc) :D
It turned out to be a very tiring day which resulted in me having a massive headache. You see I'm currently in the process of transferring schools.A process made more difficult by the teachers of SMK Sultan Abdul Samad.More about that later. >.<
The thing is Samad is really far away from my house. It's worse when there's a traffic jam and simply dreadful when there's the jam-accident combo special with a side order of dumb ass Malaysian spectators.Yes, accident watching was recently made an official local sport. To make matters worse there's no public transport heading there. The only thing available would be a lrt trip followed by a taxi ride to school. My dad would not be able to send and fetch me due to his work.Even my former transport lady, the kind Mrs Yap, apologetically refused to provide transportation.
So my only option is to transfer to a school which is nearer to my domain. That would be SMK Taman Sea.I did my best to make this clear to the teachers who were in charge of registering the form 6 pupils. What followed was a tedious verbal tug of war.The teachers on one side trying to persuade me to stay at what they claim to be one of the best schools for form 6, my dad and I on the other side trying to explain that I can't exactly grow wings in the next 2 years to fly to school. In the end I had to fill in a transfer form (it had to be typed!!! wtf) and photostat 4 copies. The fantastic part is they said it would take approximately a week to get it approved........that is if it actually gets approved.Don't you just love Malaysian efficiency?? *sigh*
What they saw was me giving an excuse not to come to Samad when I was presenting a very real and serious situation.I can understand how they feel because this must happen every year and it can be quite frustrating for them. One of the teachers even "kindly" offered to send me back home.It was a short term solution to a long term problem.
If any of you Samad people (teachers and students) come across this post(though I highly doubt it),please let me inform you that I have nothing against your school.I have nothing but respect for your school and have no ill intention in my application for a transfer.I believe your school is indeed a fine institution. (though your toilets have no doors - a no door policy perhaps?)My situational is a regrettable one.The only action I can take is to move to another school.I wish your school all the best and good luck.I have to bid you adieu.
